How strong is it? |
The properties of the Techno-Weld material have been developed to give a good balance of tensile and shear strength for joining together with a high degree of finished hardness that machines well without "picking" as Aluminum does. |
In tests on pieces of Aluminun/Copper alloy (2000 series), a lap-joint made with Techno-Weld showed a shear strength of 90% of the original material, compared to 70% for a conventional weld. Joints can be made as strong or stronger than the alloy being worked on, although joint design will play an important part. |
